Football Mental Health Alliance
LTWFC Ladies are now members of the Football Mental Health Alliance (FMHA) and as part of this 'alliance' we now have our own Club Mental Health Plan, available for download or viewing via this link. It's essential that everyone connected to the Club is aware of, sees and reads this Plan.
Mental health support in football has never been more important, and by sharing and making this plan available, we’re demonstrating that YOUR club is committed to supporting its players, coaches, volunteers, spectators and the wider community.
Around one in three
... people with a physical health condition that limits their activities, have a common mental health problem.
The number of people
... with common mental health problems went up by 45% between 1993 and 2023/24, in both men and women
The percentaage of
...people reporting severe mental health symptoms in any given week rose from 7% in 1993, to nearly 12% in 2023/24
Women more likely to experience
... common mental health problems than men. Nearly 1 in 4 women (24%) experience a common mental health problem in any given week.
Why sharing matters?
- Visibility & Awareness – Everyone at YOUR club should know where to turn for support.
- Stakeholder Confidence – Demonstrates a proactive approach to mental health
- Easy to Share – PDF format, simple to view and distribute across YOUR club's communication streams
- Club Mental Health First Aiders – Currently David Brown, we're looking for more
- FMHA – is for all: players, coaches, volunteers, spectators, referees and community
Other Resources
We've created a top level navigation menu item called WELLBEING, this is your starting point for many of the FREE resources availble from the FMHA Vault, including our very own Club Mental Health Plan. The FMHA Vault, has a RESOURCES section that includes some of the downloads we've included on your website plus other items like podcasts and webinars.
